Ebenezer EC Church is located at 441 Center Avenue, Jim Thorpe. Jim Thorpe (known as East and West Mauch Chunk until 1954) is a borough in and the county seat of Carbon County, Pennsylvania and is historically known as the burial site of Native American sports legend, Jim Thorpe. Jim Thorpe is located in the Pocono Mountains approximately 29 miles from the city of Allentown, 83 miles from Philadelphia and 117 miles from New York City. With a population of roughly 4,500, it has a small-town feel but draws many tourists who come for the scenery, train rides, bed & breakfast and dining options as well as river rafting and bicycle trails.

The church’s name, Ebenezer, is from the Hebrew term meaning, “stone of help,” referring to God’s reliable and faithful assistance. With an average attendance of 70, the congregation enjoys a multi-generational ministry which includes worship, Sunday school for all ages, various Bible studies and small groups, youth ministry, women’s ministry, a community food pantry and other opportunities to, “Know Christ and Make Him Known” as their mission declares. Their mission is achieved through a “Connect-Grow-Serve” strategy.  Individuals are encouraged to connect to the church community, they are discipled to grow in their walk of faith and to serve using the gifts and talents God has given them.
